Our Mission

Girls Inc. of Jacksonville focuses on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and research-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent.

Girls Inc. of Jacksonville girls live healthy and active lifestyles and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors; they are eager to learn, are successful in school, and are more likely to graduate from post-secondary education; they display diligence, perseverance, and resilience skills throughout their lives.

Girls Inc. works with and for girls to advocate for policies to overcome the social and systemic barriers that threaten their ability to succeed.

Together, we advocate especially for the needs of girls from low-income communities and those who may face discrimination because of their gender, race, religion, ethnicity, immigration status, disability, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation and gender identity.
