Focused, Fierce & Fearless!
Greetings, I am Kemariah Jones. I am a senior at Raines High School and I am a Girls Inc. girl. Graduating in the top 10% of my class with honors and dual enrollment credits from Florida State College at Jacksonville. Through Girls Inc. programs such as healthy living, academic enrichment, and life skills development, I have learned to resist risky behavior, and I have built strong relationships with my Girls Inc. sisters through Girls Inc. of Jacksonville programming.
I’m thrilled to announce my upcoming journey to Valdosta State University. There, I plan to major in Health Sciences/Pre-Med, aspiring to contribute to neurology research and find treatments for neurological disorders. Because of Girls Inc. and its investment in me, I will boldly follow my dream of becoming a neurologist
My high school experience stands out with participation in various activities. From playing three sports, holding leadership roles, winning Miss Congeniality and Miss Team Sweetheart, to being part of clubs like Raines Future Medical Professionals and C.r.o.p, and Girls Inc. Beyond school, she tutored 4th graders, interned at Baptist Health, contributed to the African American Summer Writing Institute, and participated in an environmental research program with the University of Florida.
As I close, a Jesse Owens quote lingers in my mind: “We all have dreams. But to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” Amid challenges, believe in yourself, set goals, and turn dreams into accomplishments. Embrace new experiences, break generational curses, and be your best self.”
With strength from Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” and I can do this by being focused, fierce & fearless!
